Hello Cristin and Chris,

Thank you for sharing the great success of your first Google Academy. This model of offering training to a group of enthusiasts, who in turn spread the word and skills, is not a new one, but it sure is exciting. We have been engaged in training and networking sessions for educators of adult learners in California for 3 years now, and have had some very exciting results. www.otan.us/timac Please don't exclude Adult Education Teachers from your Google Academy. They are working with the parents of the k-12 students, and the high-school age students who either want to speed up or catch up on their credits, or who find adult ed environment more conducive to learning. One may argue that this population needs the exposure to technology infused learning even more than the k-12 students, since learners in adult ed need tech skills to get better jobs right now, not in the future.

Great project! There was just an article on the front page of the metro section in the Sacramento paper about a high school teacher using GoogleEarth and YouTube to teach Shakespeare. Ed tech is definitely going mainstream, and Google is playing a very positive role in the process.

I agree with previous comment that including adult education in Google Academy and other activities would be a positive step. Most adult ed programs are part of the K12 districts, and teach the parents of the kids you are trying to reach, especially the non-native speakers. The more we help the parents, the better the kids will do.

Great comments guys! We all agree that it's important to bring educators who work with "adults" into the program. We've had some university (school of ed) folks attend in the past, but we'd be open to applications from others. I'd encourage anyone interested to apply to their local academy and see what happens! In fact, the next Google Teacher Academy is in So Cal on May 23rd. Details are at http://www.google.com/educators/gta.html
